Congratulations Fr Devasia Muthuplackal SJ

50 years ago, a call to serve people was finally accepted by Fr Devasia on  this day 20/06/1961 at Vinayalaya, Mumbai, India where he joined the Jesuits for Gujarat Province.
He was ordained a priest in 1974 at Mirzapur Cathedral Ahmedabad. From the second year of theology in 1972 he was assigned to the communication work in Gujarat. He started  at the Pastoral center Vadodara and worked from 1974 to 1987. In 1987 he shifted to Ahmedabad  and continued the same work of communication, upgrading to video production. The communication center was at Premal Jyoti Ahmedabad 1987 to1992. At the end of 1992 the communication center was shifted to the new building at St Xavier’s college campus and it was called Gurjarvani. Fr Devasia worked in communication starting with sound slides in 1974 to digital sound recording and digital videography in 2011. A number of training programmes in communication were also conducted by him all over India from 1974 to 2011.

Comment on Dangi Vyakaran of Raymund Chauhan sj

Shree Dahyabhai Vadhu is  a Dangi himself who is employed in the State bank of India, Shamgahan, at the foot of the Saputara hills, Ahwa-Dangs, Gujarat, India. He is fully engrossed in Dangi Language and Culture. He is quiet, soft-spoken and humble by nature. Though Mr. Vadhu is lovingly committed to the overall growth of his own family in the Dangs, he has a great desire to do everything possible, at the national and international levels, for his own Dangi Society. He has already contributed, by his research, to the stories and myths in Kokana Language. His researched compilation of this kind has drawn the attention of the tribal scholars world over.
