Gujarat Jesuits Sammelan [ Province days]


The meeting was in Hall of Rosary School, Vadodara.


The Gujarat Jesuit's Sammelan or Province days 2012 was at Rosary School Vadodara from 5th April evening to 7the noon. About 200 Jesuits attended the sessions which were with lively presentations of videos about the history of Gujarat Jesuits, and power point sharing of the vision of different groups [ Novitiate groups] for the coming 20 years [ Vision 20 ]

Those who have completed 50 years in the Society of Jesus were given a lively reception with songs gifts and a festive dinner at Rosary school hall on 6th evening. Bishop Godfrey Rozario of Vadodara Diocese and  Bishop Thomas Macwan of Ahmedabad Diocese were present for the celebration.

The Province days ended with a thanksgiving Eucharistic service presided by the provincial, Jose Changa.

A book " Samooh Yatra" [ journey together ] , history of each of the Jesuit houses in Gujarat was released by the Provincial Jose Changa.

"DOOT" centenary celbrations, 23rd Jan Sun, 2011 Anand, India

 The celebration started with a "Samaiyu" in the traditional Gujarati manner through the Gamdi village road to the St Xavier's School campus at 1.30 pm with four Dharmadhyksho of Gujarat and a large group of people who attended the function.
After the Paramyagna the entertainment and felicitation of some of those innumerable people who served the publication of Doot started at 4.30 pm.
There were wonderful dances by groups from different parts of Gujarat.

The sacrament of New Birth or New Life    [ Snansamskar ] is well presented in this DVD in Gujarati [ 30 min.] meant for the Catholics of Gujarat mainly from Ahmedabad diocese. The Video addresses the parents of the little child to be baptized. Bishop Thomas Macwan introduces the video and Francis Parmar S.J. explains the deep meaning of this Sacrament. 
This DVD will be released at Chavdapura  on the occasion of its blessing of the Church of Mother Mary  by Bishop Thomas Macwan.

Mother Teresa - 100th birth Aniversary celebration Amdavad-5th Sept

The Celebrations were in the  grand new hall on the top of St Xavier's College, Ahmedbabd,India. A large audience attended the function.
The final item was a colorful multimedia programme. Dancers from Nadiad performed wonderfully well in pure Indian dances depicting the activities and messages of Mother Teresa. Jyoti and Elisa did the choreography and direction. Sachin Desai prepared the movie at Gurjarvani studios for the same presentation . Ashok vaghela coordinated the  presentations which were shown in Petald on 29th Aug 2010 and today in Ahmadabad.

Mother Teresa - 100th birth Aniversary celebration Petlad.

The Birth centenary of Mother Teresa was celebrated at Petlad , Gujarat, India on 29th Aug at 4 pm to 8 pm.
Sisters of Mother Teresa - Missionaries of Charity - from Ahmedabad and Vadodara were present for the celebration. People lined up to contribute to the wonderful work done by the sisters in Gujarat for the poorest of the poor. A 40 min multimedia programme and a meal for all who came were the last part of the celebration of the day. In spite of the rain and the mandap collapsing with the rain people gathered in the Church cum hall for the celebration.
