Changda village Sunrise

Gurjarvani team was shooting a story at Changda village [ near Tarapur in Gujarat, India] with the Valmiki Samaj  for three days - 4, 5, 6 Feb 2013.
It is the story of a boy Babu who is one of the first to get educated up to 10th std and get a job in Ahmedabad. He returned to Changda Village with the intention of improving the family situation and helping the Valmiki Samaj to be more self reliant.
This will be also the story of the struggle of the Valmiki Samaj of the last 20 years showing the changes that took place in the Village.
And how Krishnaben as she is called at the village experienced the change in her and Babubhai and the Samaj till today.

Krishnaben and Scot from Canada are producing the movie with Gurjarvani.
The Photo shows the Sunrise at the lake of Changda Village at 6.30 in the morning.
A time-laps shoot for the movie is going on.

Catholics at Kumbh spread peace message - Ajay IMS

Varanasi: 

A group of Catholic religious are spreading the message of peace and communal harmony through theatre at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Allahabad.

Father Anand Mathew of the Indian Missionary Society (IMS), based in the neighbouring city of Varanasi, is leading a group of theatre artistes to spread awareness about health, religious tolerance and social harmony during the mega event, which comes after every 12 years.

Eight artistes belonging to Prerana Kala Manch, the theatre wing of Fr. Anand’s Vishwa Jyoti (Light of the World) Communication are performing street plays and stage plays on the major bathing days during this religious fair, which would culminate on March 10

On January 24^th, 2013 – the Feast of St. Francis de Sales (the Patron Saint of Journalists and Writers) – Vatican released Pope Benedict’s message for the 47^th World Communication Day. The theme of this year’s message is – “Social Networks: Portals of Truth and Faith; new spaces for evangelization.

The Pope challenges everyone to appreciate the potential of social media sites and urges believers, in this Year of Faith to consider how their presence on these networks can help spread the Gospel Message of God’s love and the values of human dignity to all people.

Keeping in mind the growing demands to keep oneself in communication with the others effectively, Jeevan Darshan and Gurjarvani has organized a 10-day workshop: Media Training.

This course is meant for those in formation or those who already work in parish, mission school or social centers. The course will equip the participants to use the media in its best way. We are aiming to impart scientific knowledge and professional skill in mass communication. The subjects are following: Basics of communication, Media education, Film Appreciation, Sound recording, Radio programmes, Digital photography, Videography, The World of Documentary Films, Use of internet, Making power-point programmes, Creating Personal Blog etc.

Some of the best singers of Ahmedabad diocese were invited to sing for an evening with devotional songs called Bhajan Sandhya ભજનસંધ્યા  on 26th Jan 2013 at Loyola Hall Auditorium. The programme was organised by Indian catholic Youth Association of Ahmedabad diocese whose diocesan co-ordinator is Fr Paresh Parmar.

The music orchestra was from Nadiad, conducted by Mr Ajay Vaghela
Highly talented young girls and boys sang old and new compositions of Gujarati songs accompanied by the professionally conducted orchestra.
Bishop Thomas also sang  - હે ભગવાન  તવ શાંતિનું ...[ prayer of St Francis Assisi ]   with great devotion

Vatican defends pope's Twitter account despite attacks

VATICAN CITY (RNS) The Vatican on Thursday (Jan. 24) defended the pope's choice to open a Twitter account even if it exposes him to insults and online abuse.

"Twitter is a secular reality ... but we prefer to be present rather than stay away from something just to avoid a risk," said Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, head of the Vatican's department for social communications, during the launch of the annual papal message for World Communications Day.
